Tip Opening Change: Involves opening or closing the tip opening of the mouthpiece. I recommend not changing the opening more than 20 thousandths of an inch for saxophone, a lot less for clarinet. In the Link system of mouthpiece tip opening terminology, this would be a two size change (for example, from 7 to 9).
Custom Reface: Includes the standard reface, all custom chamber work (including a removable, adjustable wedge, if desired), minor scratch or chip repair, and tip opening change (if desired).
Mouthpiece Repair: 1) Fill chips and level. 2) Rebuild broken tip. 3) Straighten and repair bent tip. 4) Fill and band cracked shank. 5) Replace Bite Plate

Mouthpiece Repair: Estimates available upon inspection of the mouthpiece, either in person or by digital images.
Free Estimates: If you pay the shipping both ways, we will be glad to give you a free estimate of any and all work we think your mouthpiece needs.
Satisfaction guaranteed: Any mouthpiece that has a standard or custom reface will be adjusted or refaced to the customer's satisfaction for as long as the customer owns the mouthpiece. This warrantee is voided if the mouthpiece is refaced by anyone else and it doesn't cover any repairs for damage done subsequent to the reface. All repairs are warranteed for the life of the mouthpiece.
A Word of Advice: We recommend not having your main mouthpiece refaced unless it's to correct an obvious flaw or the mouthpiece performs far enough below your expectations that it's not going stay your main piece. In other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. A good alternative is to get a backup piece of the same model and copy the original onto it. Once the backup is playing as well or better than the original, then you're free to experiment without losing anything. One of the easiest jobs for a refacer to do is to get one mouthpiece playing like another if they're the same make and model.
Note: We have the facings and tip openings for many famous older players in our records. Even though we have the facing curve, tip, and mouthpiece brands for these giants, we don't have the tip width or baffle measurements. This means we can get close to these legends' set ups but not exact. Even if you played on a great player's mouthpiece and horn, though, it's doubtful that you would sound exactly like that person. This being said, starting off with the same facing is a good step in the right direction if you're trying for a certain player's sound.
Among the players we have on record: John Coltrane Harry Carney Henry Cuesta Buddy DeFranco Paul Desmond Pete Fountain Herb Geller Stan Getz Paul Gonzalvez Benny Goodman Coleman Hawkins Johnny Hodges Peanuts Hucko Charlie Parker Art Pepper Bill Perkins Larry Teal Phil Woods Lester Young |
